We entered two teams into the competition – an experienced A team and a well trained but inexperienced B team.  Our teams had to undergo rigorous traing over 3 weekends and then undertook the actual competition walking 16 miles on the Saturday and camping overnight at waddecar in minus 7 degrees, cooking evening meal and breakfast and then completing abouy 6 miles on the Sunday.  A very hard competition in whci the A team came 4th and the B team came 12th – really well done to our Scout teams made up of all 3 scout troops.

Our photos are only of team A as team B set off at a different time and there are no photos of the actual competition as this was conducted strictly without leaders.

The teams underwent a strict kit inspection and over the training and competition had to work together as a team, learn map reading, planning route cards and timings of each stage of the hikes.  Each member received their Bowlander Badge and the Scout Expedition Challenge.  Well done to our Scouts
